Submit your music to a given cutscene and get it analyzed, receive improvement suggestions and discuss it intensively with Pieter at the workshop. Improve your skills right away by Streamlining and enhancing your workflow for efficiency and speed in order to focus on creativity with him.
The objective ist to equip emerging composers with real-world skills to write additional music for a specific in-game cutscene or television series by critiquing a pre-assigned cues, focusing on musical cohesion, thematic integration, and professional delivery standards.
The session will center around Disney’s Secrets of Sulphur Springs. Participants will be given a scene and spotting notes in advance as well as pre-existing cues. This will allow them to listen to style, instrumentation, and tone so they can match it as they score the scene on their own before the workshop. During the workshop, we’ll review their cues together, focusing on tone, thematic consistency, instrumentation, and proper technical delivery (stem prep, file naming, etc.). I’ll also share my final version of the cue used in the show for comparison and discussion. The goal is to give participants hands-on experience with the creative and professional expectations of working as an additional composer in a real-world TV production or cutscene environment in video games.
