Presented by SoundTrack_Cologne & Game Music Composer Concerts
Game Music Composer Concerts is a fairly new concert series in Cologne hosted by Uli Sigg and Bob Humid, and this time presented in cooperation with SoundTrack_Cologne. The series showcases composers and producers of game music as immersive live performances. One artist, one evening. The subsequent artist talk and meet & greet provide insights into the technical and creative process behind the music.
As a panelist at this year's SoundTrack Cologne 22, the composer Paul Wolinski will provide insights into his unique technical and artistic working methods during the Composing for Video Games congress day and later that night he will also perform live and audiovisually with and against his machines and his code, with and against his Wreckage Systems.

Paul Wolinski
Wolinski, known to most insiders as the code-savvy and central member of the experimental/electronically modulated math-rock band 65daysofstatic, has released numerous studio albums over the past two decades and toured halfway around the world. Always feverishly committed to exploring less conventional avenues of music production and presentation, this exceptional band's achievements include the "infinite" soundtrack to the hugely successful and critically acclaimed cult video game No Man's Sky. Shortly thereafter, they toured Europe with their algorithmically controlled live A/V performance Decomposition Theory. Their current work is called Wreckage Systems – an endless 24/7 stream of procedurally generated (but NOT AI-generated!) music.
Paul has released several solo albums, most recently the album Telex From MIDI City (Data Airlines, 2023) and the accompanying EP. Meet Me By The Panamax Barricades (Data Airlines, 2024) under the pseudonym Polinski.
Paul also effortlessly fills a variety of roles as a specialist in the fields of audio, sound design, and programming. In the past, he has already contributed to numerous indie games. He is currently concentrating as a composer on a major new, yet unnamed video game that is already generating excitement.
