SoundTrack_Cologne 19 announces nominees for the EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION and the PEER RABEN MUSIC AWARD

11 composers and sound designers are nominated for the EUROPEAN TALENT AWARD. The winners will be announced at the Grand Award Ceremony in the IHK on June 11th, 2022, moderated by composer Hanna Sophie Lüke.

The EUROPEAN TALENT COMPETITION offers a platform especially for young talents. The participants‘ tasks was to compose a new musical interpretation (score and/or sound design) to the short film “UnVernunft" ("UnReason") by director Hanna Viktoria Heimann (HFF Munich).

The nominees (in alphabetical order):
Rossano Cariello (Score), Martina Cirillo (Score), Lorenzo Gioelli (Score), Johann Grillenbeck (Score), Victor Habes (Score), Michael Kaspar (Score), Thomas Peyrounette (Score), Manuel Seum (Score), David Videli (Score), Jenny Winter (Sound Design), Niels N. Winter (Score).

The competition screening takes place at Turistarama on Saturday, June 11th.
The nominees and their new scores for "UnReason" will be presented on the big screen to the audience and jury, moderated by Yati Durant.

The winner of the WDR FILMSCORE AWARD has the opportunity to record his composition with the WDR Rundfunkorchester. The WDR FILMSCORE AWARD will be presented in cooperation with WDR and WDR Funkhausorchester. The awarded prize of the EUROPEAN TALENT AWARD SOUND DESIGN is a 5.1. Surround Short Film Mix in the prestigious sound mixing studio Torus in Cologne, which has donated this award.

PEER RABEN MUSIC AWARD

Eight film composers enter the race for the PEER RABEN MUSIC AWARD. The winners will be announced at the grand award ceremony on June 11th, 2022.

The PEER RABEN MUSIC AWARD will be awarded for the fourteenth time. Film scores with innovative and dramatically coherent use of music and sound in relation to the narrative will be honored.

The award commemorates the great German film composer Peer Raben, and comprises a prize money of 1,500 euros.
